You can add another taskbar to Windows 11 but you will need to use a third-party application to do that. Here’s how.

Windows 11 has been out for a few months now and one of the new aspects of the OS is its new taskbar. Microsoft went for a macOS-style taskbar design with a centered Start menu positioning and a lot of slots to pin app. However, there’s still no way in Windows to add a second Taskbar, which could be a bummer for productivity seekers. Thankfully, there are third party apps to take advantage of.

Windows 11 supports a third-party app called Linkbar. Linkbar is a free app that allows to add a new taskbar to Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 7 and Windows Vista. The app allows you to add multiple taskbars on the desktop.

Note that Linkbar is not available on the Windows taskbar and hence, you will need to download it from a third-party website. Hence, you need to exercise caution while downloading the files.

Step 1:
Open the Linkbar download page from Softpedia.

Step 2:
Download the file. You will need to extract the files via WinZip. You can save all the files to a folder.

Step 3:
Now open the app by double-clicking on Linkbar64 from the folder. If you have a very old PC running on Windows 7 or even Vista, you can try the Linkbar EXE, provided your system is a 32-bit PC.

Step 4:
Next, select the “Only for me” button. You will need to choose a folder where all the files will be saved. For best results, choose your My Documents folder.

Step 5:
Once you are done, click on the “Create” button. This will automatically add a new taskbar, albeit completely blank.

Step 6:
You will need to add some apps amd folder to get it in a working state. Hence, right-click the Linkbar taskbar and then select New > Shortcut. From here, choose the app you want a shortcut to on your new taskbar.

Step 7:
Next, you need to click on the Next button, and enter a shortcut name. Click Finish and you are done.
